Nucleus Integration

Get your findings to Nucleus in seconds, without dealing with custom scripts and API documentation.

To set up the Nucleus integration, navigate to your Pentest-Tools.com dashboard and find the integrations menu in the sidebar.

In this section, you can connect third-party applications to use for notifications (such as Slack and Webhooks), or for managing vulnerability workflows (JIRA). We’ll continue to add integrations going forward.

Set up

  1. Click on Nucleus integrations

  2. First, you need to add your credentials. You will need your Nucleus API key and the subdomain of your workspace.

  3. Now that your credentials are configured, you can click on Add to link the first Nucleus project with Pentest-Tools.com. Notice that you can edit your credentials anytime using the Edit button on the right.

  4. Based on the credentials you provided, all your Nucleus projects are now ready to be linked with Pentest-Tools.com. For each linked project, you can add a description if you want to find it easier in the future. Click Link project and that’s it, your Nucleus project is linked.

Use the integration

Now that we have a Nucleus project linked, let’s start sending findings to it. For this, we have two options, each one having its own advantages.

Option 1 - Send Findings manually

If you are looking for complete control over what gets sent from Pentest-Tools.com to Nucleus, then this option is for you. You can go to Findings and manually select only the ones you think it makes sense to exist in Nucleus, click Send to and choose Nucleus. You can choose your already linked project or link a new one, if needed.

Option 2 - Send Findings automatically to Nucleus

You can also make use of Notifications and set as a destination Nucleus for an existing or a completely new integration. Assuming you didn’t use a notification before, let’s start by creating a new one.

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications and click on Add
  2. Let’s create a new Notification which will send all vulnerabilities to Nucleus whenever a scan in the Demo workspace contains at least one High-risk vulnerability. I named it Send to Nucleus, but feel free to use any name you find useful. For the actions, we will choose the Nucleus project we linked earlier. Feel free to use multiple actions for the same Notification.
  3. Hit Save and that’s it. Now, if the result of any scan performed in the Demo workspace meets the trigger, all findings of that scan will be sent automatically to Nucleus. To learn more about how Notifications are working, feel free to read this dedicated support article.
