[VPN Profiles](https://support.pentest-tools.com/vpn-profiles) August 5, 2025 # How to deploy a VirtualBox VPN agent Our **VirtualBox VPN Agent** is a lightweight software component that can be deployed within your internal environment, to securely scan your internal targets. **Step 1. Create a new VPN profile** Go to your [VPN Profiles](https://app.pentest-tools.com/vpn_profiles) page, click *+ Add*, and then select *VPN Agent*. ![](https://support.pentest-tools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Aug-05-2025-01-21-44-2137-PM.png?width=670&height=866&name=image-png-Aug-05-2025-01-21-44-2137-PM.png) There are important configuration options that can be set now or later by editing the VPN Profile: 1. If your targets resolve only through a specific DNS, please specify it in the DNS Servers section, but be sure to also include Google’s DNS (8.8.8.8), as it’s required for the agent to function properly. 2. Don't forget to select the desired **Workspace(s)** that you want to associate this VPN Profile with. All scans in these Workspaces will pass through the VPN tunnel created. 3. *\[Optional\]* Specify a limit for how many parallel scans you can execute over this VPN Profile (you can't set more than the maximum parallel scans limit included in your subscription).
